Simultaneous interpreting is the immediate conversion of spoken words from one language into another. It is a demanding task requiring a lot of experience and skill. The interpreter needs to be able to listen to one language and understand the content before translating and then speaking in the target language. At the same time new content is being spoken and an interpreter has to have a high degree of concentration. Because interpreting takes place quickly, these professionals require an enormous vocabulary and a broad understanding of a huge range of subject matter in order to be accurate.
